"I started as a volunteer producer at Soho Radio back in 2017 and loved it from the start. Being bang in the heart of Soho, surrounded by incredible broadcasters, was a musical education. Every week, I’d show up to produce shows for people like Kish Kash, Norman Jay, Eddie Piller, Hospital Records, Zanthe, Mark Hume, Pathaan, Barry Ashworth, and Shawn Lee.
A year later, I somehow managed to convince them to give me a monthly show. I called it On The Record and it went out 12-2am (prime time 😂). I remember recording it in the basement of Great Windmill Street and absolutely bricking it when I had to speak on the mic.
Looking back, it was a bit stretch to give me a show. Sharing the airwaves with some legendary broadcasters was this shy little soul boy who knew very little but I’m incredibly grateful they did and it just goes to show the kind of people who are behind it.
