Deeper Cuts with Karl Bos feat. Awen Ensemble (12/01/2025)

Karl is joined this month by Leeds-based jazz-folk group Awen Ensemble! Taking inspiration from different corners of the Celtic world, their new EP Dúthchas touches on the Highland land clearances - whilst debut album Cadair Idris has the folklore of its namesake Welsh mountain at the core.

Emyr and Saul from the band talk creative process, and pull out influence tracks from John Martyn, Fazer, Cynefin and Paul Desmond.

Awen Ensemble are performing at the next Deeper Cuts night on February 6th at Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney - celebrating jazz-ish music alongside producer Hiro Ama, and Makeda on the decks.

Plus, Karl has new tunes from MOMO, Lophae, Eddie Chacon, Dundundun, Rogê, Ex-Easter Island Head, And Is Phi, Nikos Ziarkas, Space Blanket and Ferg’s Imaginary Big Band.
