Years ago a friend told me that somewhere between will and surrender lies grace. We all need the will to take action in the world: to be able choose something powerfully and just go for it, and we also all need to be able to surrender; to open to what is already happening without imposing our own expectations or conditions on it.
Spiritually speaking, will and surrender aren’t antagonistic, so much as polarities that need balancing; like two wings of a bird that need to function in tandem to create flight. Too much force and we risk becoming rigid and hard. Too much emphasis on surrender and we risk becoming stagnant or over-flexible.
So how do we know when to challenge ourselves and when to emphasise ease? How can we achieve the best possible flight dynamics? Come and explore what lies between will & surrender in an embodied inquiry that draws deep on the power of the 5 elements.
