Non-humans and humans alike, we fertilise and consume, then the cycle repeats itself. This show explores what happens when something disrupts the cycle or when a new element, such as microfibres, enter the system. How do we escape what we consume? This show unpacks the essentialist tension of 'Ecofeminism', arguing against 'innate qualities or essences that are not historically or culturally contingent, but eternal and unchanging, an outcome of their biology, which is understood as fixed' (Carlassare, E, 1994 'Ecology: Essentialism in Ecofeminist Discourse').
