Clemency earnestly reflects her past and present. Taking influence from her teenage years in the power electronics and experimental electronics scene, her DJ sets are centred around UK-influenced bass music, complex rhythms, and broken breakbeats. She sandwiches sweet lullabies and anthemic lyrics with unsettling beats and unconventional musical backdrops, uniting noir and twisted emotions with frenetic percussion and beatless moments of grandeur.
Residing on the airwaves with NTS Radio, Clemency hosts a monthly residency for Mutualism, an artist collective based in Manchester, Leeds and Cologne. In spring 2020, Clemency made her production debut on Local Action sister label 2 B REAL, reflecting on coalescence and causality on “References”, which was remixed later in the year by Jennifer Walton, Boofy and Perko. She will follow this up in 2021 with further releases on 2 B Real, Murmurs and Sliink.
