So Flute has been running as a club-night for the past 6 years in Manchester and beyond. Having built upon it’s community-focussed foundations, the night and It’s collective of resident DJ’s have grown from humble beginnings in sorely missed Mancunian institution, The Roadhouse, to spaces and places across the UK and on international stages.
Aside from bringing heavyweight DJs and selectors to Manchester the core focus of the night has always been to build an identity that is not just concerned with headline bookings, but is about providing a space where people are able to come together and interact with a carefully curated soundtrack of music taken from a global palette. Adopting this approach has allowed their residents to flourish as DJs and producers in their own rights, with releases on labels such as Church, Brownswood Recordings, Tru Thoughts and Banoffee Pies Records, as well as hosting radio shows on the likes of NTS, Reform Radio and Worldwide FM.
