Ahead of Mother’s Day in the UK and in light of International Women’s Day, Mind The Music puts a DJ mom in the spotlight in the episode on March 15th. Auntie Maureen’s art ranges from heritage performance, music and vintage DJ services to bespoke site- or project-specific tailored events planning. To say that Maureen has an astoundingly inspirational story is an understatement. She has overcome an enormous amount of hurdles as a young mom - figuring out how to keep her relationship going, raising her son alone, going back to university to avoid the poverty trap and DJing giving her the freedom she needed to be there for her babe. We will talk about being a DJ mom, balancing life, DJing and motherhood, the challenges she faced in a male-dominated sector and what happened after her son left the nest.
