Maracuya Soundsystem: Future Sound of Africa 12th May 2020

Maracuya Soundsystem have a special show celebrating the 'Future Sound of Africa'. Whilst the world is experiencing lockdown, we wanted to celebrate and share the most exciting and forward-thinking music from the continent, as well as hearing from musicians and DJs about how their lives have been affected by COVID-19. The guests this week include DJ Raph from Kenya, Gaffaci from Ghana, Emo Kid from South Africa and Turkana from South Sudan, and based in Uganda. They'll be sharing their stories of life under lockdown but also sharing their messages of hope for a brighter future. Katie (Maracuya) will be finishing the show with a 30 minute North African mix, consisting of music from Cairo to Marrakech. The rest of the show will be full of the best sounds and genres in Africa right now, from gqom to coupé-décalé.
