Based in Thessaloniki, Journeys: Into Europe features people-on-the-move and those working to support them. This episode’s guest speaker is 25 year old Nazar. Nazar was born in Afghanistan but grew up in Karachi, Pakistan. He explains what life was like growing up and why he decided to leave home. He also shares his hopes for the future, as well as some music he likes.
In this episode, Nazar mentions an NGO that he volunteers with, called Medical Volunteers International. MVI are currently raising money for one of their beneficiaries, Ibrahim, who due to his status as an undocumented person, and a lack of will from the public healthcare system in Greece, had to have his leg amputated at the beginning of this year. The money raised will go to buying Ibrahim a prosthetic leg, enabling him to walk again. Here's the link: https://www.betterplace.me/help-ibrahim-walk-again
