Demo Tapes: Rewind with More Music 4th February 2022

Unlocking our sound heritage, have been working with More Music in Morecambe to make protest music. More Music came across archived audio of Luchia Fiztgerald, one of the founding members of the Gay Liberation Front in Manchester. They used this audio to make a song entitled ‘You’ve got the magic’ which they have been performing both live and online since its creation. They invited Luchia into the studio to have a conversation about her life as an LGBTQIA+ activist and campaigner. The conversation spanned the establishment of the Gay Liberation Front, the obstacles that were and are in the way of the LGBTQIA+ community fighting for their rights, how activism has changed from the 1970s to now and much more. This project was made possible by Hope Streets and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Tune in to listen, it’s not to be missed.
