A Stitch In Time w/ dithering & Beku 4th April 2023

Basketball was the first thing that formed a bond between me and Beku. Our appreciation of 80s and 90s era NBA culture led us on to inevitable conversations about golden era NY hip hop.


Unlike the majority of DJs I know, Beku’s main purpose for digging is looking for samples in the beats he makes. He’ll show you a flamenco record he found for a pound at a charity shop, which is beautiful in its own right, then with a sneaky grin play the hardest boom bap beat you’ve ever heard that he made with it.



There’s a lot more I could say about him.. his killer feel for the drums, his knowledge of pre-invasion communist Grenada or his love of Halifax Town FC, but I think you’d be stuck reading this for a while. All you need to know is that he’s the bomb and it’s not often you’re able to hear an hour of his tunes so listen up !!
