Analog Africa founder Samy Ben Redjeb first thought of starting a label after finding a Green Arrows record while digging in Zimbabwe. He was hooked, and in 2001 he launched Analog Africa with a collection of Green Arrows gems, and has been exploring the music of the motherland ever since. Renowned for its extensive liner notes, deep research and above board licensing policy, Analog Africa is more than just a record label - it’s a living, breathing community archive, which has unearthed classic recordings by such masters as Brazilian Siriá genius Mestre Cupijó, Nigerian rap maverick Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, Dakar percussionist and singer Amara Touré, Benin’s legendary Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou and many others. Apart from running Analog Africa, Ben Redjeb is also one of the go-to guys for rare and sought-after African records by collectors, producers and DJs worldwide.
