Norman Jay MBE has been a DJ since he was old enough to visit elementary school – at least that’s when he first publicly played a record at a party. Instrumental in bringing soul, disco and, later, hip-hop to the UK, Norman Jay’s career as a DJ has seen him grace the airwaves of legendary pirate station Kiss, a handful of BBC networks, warehouse parties and the celebrated *Shake‘n’Fingerpop* sessions, as well as running the Talkin’ Loud label with Gilles Peterson. His *Good Times* sound system parties with his brother Joey at Notting Hill Carnival are the stuff of legend, known across the globe. Norman Jay’s passion for great dance music – from rare groove to hip-hop, disco and house – has touched the lives of many, both in the UK and overseas.
