For our first episode of Tokyo Tangents, Masaaki Hara explore ambient music, in the soundscape lineage. Ambient music is one genre that has undergone a unique development in Japan. Also known as soundscape, it has been approached by many different artists from jazz, pop, techno and electronic music, including such luminaries as Susumu Yokota, Kuniyuki Takahashi, and Haruomi Hosono.
