John Beltran’s career is as expansive as it is deep. The Lansing-based artist came up with the rising tide of the Detroit sound in the '90s — Beltran has released records with labels that defined that era’s sound, such as R&S, Peacefrog and Retroactive. In recent years, his records have been released by Delsin, Magicwire (under his Placid Angels alias) and Text. Beltran’s life and work is majorly influenced by new age philosophies and music, as felt in his timeless, atmospheric, melody-driven productions.
