A pioneer of the '70s Motown Sound, Watson has contributed production, writing or guitar licks to hundreds of singles and albums around the world, many of which have sold in the tens of millions. From The Temptations to Marvin Gaye, Quincy Jones to Herbie Hancock, Michael Jackson to Gladys Knight, the list is a superlative body of work , and one that saw Watson utilise an astonishing array of sounds and effects, as he coaxed the soul out of six strings and a wah wah pedal.
