Bleak, imposing, stark, tense: These are words used to describe the music of Luis Vasquez's the Soft Moon. Raised in California and based in Berlin, Vasquez embraces post-punk deconstructions, heavy rhythmic structures, metallic percussion and shadowy layers of synth drama on albums like _Zeros_ and _Deeper_ (on Captured Tracks) and _Criminal_, his most recent album for Sacred Bones. Vivian talks to Vasquez about his musical history and the inner demons that inspired him to begin making music in the first place. In hour two, we welcome in Boy Harsher, a duo with a particular talent for dark disco and alluring EBM dance jams.
