_Through the Cortex_, the sixth solo album from French dark techno don Terence Fixmer, is an alien epic of haunting synth textures and tense atmospherics, not unlike a UFO landing or the anticipation of standing outside a crumbling monolithic warehouse waiting for the rave rapture. Vivian sits down with Fixmer in a sunny Berlin park to talk about growing up near the Belgian border, his relationship to the Ostgut Ton label and the Berlin club scene and his cinematic musical style. We'll also be celebrating the 30-year anniversary of Sonic Youth's distorted opus _Daydream Nation_ and we'll be hearing some words from the indie rock engineer John Agnello, who has worked with Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth and Kurt Vile.
