Peak Time – Synthesthesia with Tatsuya Takahashi & Torsten Schmidt

Deep in the bowels of our Cologne studio, Red Bull Music Academy cofounder Torsten Schmidt has collected over 80 synthesizers from across the last four decades that he has amassed during his world travels, everything from classics like the Linn Drum and the Yamaha DX-7 to rarer models like the Moog III, the Arp Omni, the Oberheim Matrix 12 and the Jupiter 8. Schmidt journeys up from the basement to demonstrate the sounds and special quirks of some of these digital and analog treasures alongside synth designer and futurist Tatsuya Takahashi, a former Chief Engineer at Korg who is now an RBMA co-conspirator. As it's new release Friday, we've also got plenty of fresh sounds for you as well, including a track premiere from Zufu of Dengue Dengue Dengue, which appears on a new Terror Negro compilation of Afro-Peruvian grooves.
