London's Swindle produces grime and dubstep injected with a healthy dose of jazz and funk — his style was born from a longstanding love of music courtesy of his blues-guitar-playing father. From his early bedroom productions at the age of 14 and his self-released mixtapes to releases on Planet Mu and Butterz, the freeform spirit of jazz and soulful rhythm of funk courses throughout. This energy is alive and well on his latest album, _No More Normal_, released earlier in the year via Giles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings. Following a stint of producing for other artists, like D Double E and rising soul singer Mahlia, the album is three years in the making. Both nostalgic and reactive to the current political climate, _No More Normal_ encapsulates and celebrates the multiculturalism of the UK. Complementing the album's release, Swindle teamed up with Red Bull Music to release a documentary chronicling the creative process.
