Description
Poetry, videogames (like *Soul Calibur* and *Final Fantasy*), orchestration and glitch riffs are among the influences of Reba Fay (AKA Swan Meat), whose wildly deconstructed electronic emissions are club-adjacent, yet noise-obsessed. Born in Washington, D.C., but based in Cologne, Germany, Reba joins us on Peak Time to talk about her travels through the heavens and hells of synth patches, underground parties, chaos and order and expressing one's self via different media. We'll also be listening to her new mini-EP, *Lathe of Heaven* (inspired by science fiction writer Ursula K LeGuin), and premiering a new track called "Lisp," which she partially worked on while participating in the RBMA Bass Camp session during this year's Bonnaroo Festival. Also on today's show, plenty of music news and new music, including selections from the new Popcaan and World's Fair albums that dropped on Friday.
