JKriv and Aaron Dae's Brooklyn-based label Razor-N-Tape grew from their mutual adoration of all things groovy. Founded in 2012, RNT began as a home for the unreleased disco edits that had been a mainstay of the duo’s DJ sets, and it quickly grew into a taste-making label of the modern disco scene. In just five years, RNT is able to boast a catalogue of 30+ releases, with another 25 on their RNT Reserve and 45 sub-imprints — it has become one of the most respected independent underground disco and house labels in the game. The music has garnered support and spins from some of the biggest names in modern dance music, including Derrick Carter, Black Madonna, Disclosure, Jackmaster and Kenny Dope, to name just a few. The duo joins Vivian today to discuss what they've learned over the past year, the sound of modern NYC disco and where they see themselves in next five years. Later in the show, Brooklyn indie rock royal, Oliver Ackermann steps into the studio.
