In 1984, Bay Area boogie god Prophet released a private-press record called _Right On Time_ that he wrote and recorded on his home set-up. The time wasn't right and this Treasure Records album was buried, only to be rediscovered by Stones Throw boss and expert crate-digger Peanut Butter Wolf at SF's Groove Merchant Records. Eventually, Prophet and PB linked to re-release the record, and begin work on a brand new one, _Wanna Be Your Man_, co-produced with L.A.'s Mndsgn. On today's show, we sit down with Prophet to talk about the Bay Area music scene of the 1980s, his favorite synths and how he got so funky. As it's Friday, we'll also have lots of new music on deck from Lil Yachty, Roc Marciano, How to Dress Well and more.
