The classically trained, London-based cellist, composer and producer Oliver Coates graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with the highest grades in the institution’s history, setting the stage for an impressive list of credits to follow. As part of the London Contemporary Orchestra he formed the backbone of Radiohead's album, _A Moon Shaped Pool_; he's collaborated with Laurie Spiegel and John Luther Adams, recorded with Jonny Greenwood on the scores for Paul Thomas Anderson’s _The Master_ and _Phantom Thread_, worked with Mica Levi on the 2016 album _Remain Calm_ and earned the Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award. On top of all that, he's released two solo albums of his unique take on minimalist dance music — he challenges the norms of classical composition, fusing elements of house, techno and ambient in non-traditional arrangements.
