Description
The poster child for Korea's fertile reggae scene is undoubtedly Skull, a MC who's collaborated with Stephen Marley and opened for Buju Banton. But Seoul's roots and culture run deep, as we learn on today's show. We’ll be calling up Cheongdahl, the founder and co-director of Seoul record store and label Eastern Standard Sounds, as well as MC and selector Smiley Song. They'll be playing some of their favorite reggae, ska and dub tunes from friends and family across the Korean Peninsula. We'll also be hearing a bit about a new radio show and podcast, called Nightclubbing, that Red Bull Radio launched last week. Vivian catches up with Todd Burns – who hosts Nightclubbing with Julia Alsop – to find out more about the program and hear clips from the first episode, which is about David Mancuso's legendary NYC party the Loft. Plus, we’ll get into new music from Dâm-Funk, Santigold, ADULT., YG and A$AP Rocky.
