Description
Live from Berlin's Funkhaus, we speak to two musicians who are pushing the definitions of modern classical music to new frontiers. Vivian is joined by Icelandic composer, cellist and singer Hildur Guðnadóttir, who draws both intimate simplicity and huge glacial soundscapes from her instrument, whether performing with múm, Pan Sonic and Jóhann Jóhannsson, in her soundtrack work for movies like _Sicario_ and _Mary Magdalene_ or on her majestic solo albums for the Touch label. Innervisions' Henrik Schwarz, long known for his shoegaze-inspired house, joins us to talk about his work melding jazz, classical and electronic, including his collaborations with Bugge Wesseltoft, his commissions for orchestra and ballet and his new Plunderphonics project, where he teams up with the Alma Quartet to make new music based on compositions from the likes of Bach, Mozart and Brahms.
