Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist New Sidhu pays homage to his heritage and explores his ancestry with an interplay between textiles, text, architecture and shared experiences. A member of Black Constellation – an Afrofuturist collective that also includes Seattle's Shabazz Palaces and Maikoiyo Alley-Barnes and L.A. filmmaker Kahlil Joseph – Sidhu connects past to present and astral to earthly in a poetic flow of materials. His spirituality and reverence for his roots are displayed prominently in his clothing line, Paradise Sportif, which has attracted the attention of a fellow celestial-gazing future being: Erkyah Badu. On this final day of _Peak Time_'s Music & Style week, Sidhu calls into the studio to discuss the music that's inspired his creations, Sikh history and the importance of handicraft and his first Toronto solo exhibit, _Medicine for a Nightmare (they called, we responded)_.
