Today's show kicks off with an artist who is not simply pushing boundaries, but cutting, dragging, twisting, collaging, melting and mashing sonics into an entirely new species. Her name is Fire-Toolz, and according to her label Hausau Mountain, she is a "consciousness that has taken the physical form of a transfemme non-binary human named Angel Marcloid." Last week she released her debut album, _Skinless X-1_, a perfect amalgamation of the most disparate of genres, running from spa music to black metal to jazz. Guest host Jordan Rothlein calls her up in Chicago this morning to unravel the complexities that define her music. Shifting gears, the Jamaican-born singer, rapper, DJ and saxophone player known as Masego has been bubbling up in the R&B world with his smooth-as-butter vocals, honey-coated productions and sultry-yet-spunky lyrics.
