Culled from more than 250 interviews with the scenes most influential artists - Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Screaming Trees, Hole, Melvins, Mudhoney and more - the book captures the essence of the Seattle-born genre and chronicles its journey from a local DIY scene to a worldwide sound that defined a decade. In 1994 the grunge community was rocked when the news hit that Kurt Cobain - frontman of Nirvana, one of the genre's "big four" - had taken his life. Today, to honor the twenty-fifth anniversary of Cobain's passing, Yarm joins Vivian in the studio to look back at some of the most important moments in the short, but brilliant life of grunge's most integral figure.
