UK producer and Brainfeeder affiliate Lapalux (AKA Stuart Howard) is best known for his experimental use of textures - blending sound palettes and inspirations, constructing and re-constructing - to grapple with existentialism and a sense of consciousness. The sonic result is equal parts disorienting and soothing. On his latest release, _Ruinism_, Howard pushes his empiric exploration further into the limbo between life and death, boldly distorting recordings to the brink of destruction only to revive them. We'll hear his conversation with correspondent Harley Brown on the impetus behind this album, the recording process and the things he learned along the way. Later, we hear from Chicago's avant-garde Outside House hero, Hieroglyphic Being (aka Jamal Moss). A man of many genres, Moss' near indescribable sound has made him at home at a number of labels, including Soul Jazz, RVNG, Spectral Sound, Technicolor and his own Mathematics.
