Named by a friend in the late hours of the rave many years ago, the Motherbeat was at the time to Drew a rhythmic, healing energy and a reprieve from dysphoria. This language of pulsation continues to inform Drew’s creativity, resulting in a release of ecstatic energy unto the dancefloor and invocation of transcendental states in her listeners. At the top o the show, we’ll hear Lauren Martin’s conversation with Drew on the Motherbeat and what else the Smart Bar resident has been up to.
