West London-raised Hollie Cook comes from an auspicious background - her father is the Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook and her mother Jeni Cook is a former backup singer for Culture Club. Despite being raised rock 'n' roll, she wanted to strike out on her own in her solo work – after spending time in legendary reggae-inspired punk band The Slits, she's channelled lover's rock, dub and '60s girl groups to create her own style of tropical pop. Vivian chats with her about her latest record *Vessel of Love* (pure vacation vibes), love songs and Mungo's Hi-Fi among other things. We also celebrate International Jazz Day with new cuts from Kamasi Washington and Shabaka Hutchings and pay tribute to New York's infamous gay disco/hi-NRG/sleaze club The Saint, which closed down 30 years ago today.
