Gabe Gurnsey is best known as the drummer and co-founder of the Factory Floor, an industrial outfit who favored deconstructing ice cold techno beats and strung out no wave electronica to create cataclysmic club hits. This past August, Gurnsey turned up the heat for his solo debut album, _Physical_ released via Erol Alkan's Phantasy label. Endless drones and jabbing basslines, replaced by punchy EBM, rhythmic Balearic synth and funky Chicago House. We listen back today to Gurnsey discussing the drive to move into these warmer sonic climes and whether he'll ever move back to the shadows.
