London-based producer and artist Flora Yin-Wong has releases on experimental labels such as PAN and Purple Tape Pedigree, exploring abstract electronics with ambiance and drone, sound design and collage. Most recently she's has been involved with an event platform and new record label C.A.N.V.A.S., which seeks to stimulate collaboration between musicians approaching music in nontraditional ways. This February the label released _Cipher_ a compilation prompted by a desire to contextualize the digitization and codification of music. Yin-Wong, along with Michael Speers, Xao, object blue, Ashley Paul, Ben Vince, Ausschuss, Olan Monk, and Lugh were delivered specific themes to consider in approaching their responses to the prompt. Today, Peak Time correspondent Lauren Martin with the producer about her sonic montages and abstractions and the concept of Ryōan-ji, kare-sansui as translated through her music.
