Peak Time gets you over the hump with a smashing two-hour dose of new music and fire vintage cuts. In the first hour, thrill to the latest and greatest from the worlds of hip-hop, electronic, indie rock and beyond, including the return of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Karen O and shoegaze band Ride, street rap from Maxo Kream and Young Chop, searing electronics from Trilogy Tapes and Dais Records' Wetware, and even taking a spin with that hotly tipped new Kendrick, Future and James Blake joint. Plus, Vivian selects a 2007 cut from Berlin natives Modeselektor to get the blood moving. In the second half of the show, we celebrate the release of a pair of articles about the birth of UK Garage on the Daily, Red Bull Music Academy’s online news magazine, with a half hour of first-wave UK garage sounds. A vintage Syrup Girls mix serves up bubbly and fun party tracks from Dream Team, Ed Case, Sticky and the Wideboys with the guilty pleasure “Sambuca.”
