Description
For over 30 years pioneering DJs Fabio & Grooverider have sat at the forefront of UK dance music. Meeting in 1987 on the pirate radio station Phase One spinning house and groove records, the duo went on to helm London venue Heaven's weekly Thursday night, Rage, the following year. With sets that spanned house, techno, hardcore, acid, and New Beat, they set the dancefloor alight and earned a cult following. Expertly blending sped-up hardcore with dancehall riddims, dynamic breakbeats, and Detroit techno, they birthed the sound that would be dubbed jungle. Continuing to play until Rage ended in 1994, they introduced a world of sound to UK dance music shifting its energy in the process, an effect that can still be felt today. Now, as Rage has celebrated its 30th anniversary, the duo looks back at their legacy and tell their story with the best way they know how; a hand-picked selection of their favorite cuts collated in a 3-part compilation.
