Canadian musicians Daniel Lanois and Venetian Snares are the unlikeliest of pairs — Lanois is a producer who's worked with the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Willie Nelson, while Venetian Snares (AKA Aaron Funk) is an electronic artist known for popularizing breakcore. Sometimes it's the joining of such disparate forces that creates the most wondrous results. In 2014 Lanois reached out to Funk in the hopes of a collaboration; four years on, this creative germination has sprouted into an eight-track album titled _Daniel Lanois x Venetian Snares_ (released via Funk's longtime home, Planet Mu). In a conversation between Lanois, Funk and Peak Time correspondent Harley Brown, they will share tales from recording in a former Buddhist temple in Toronto, their creative dynamic and work styles, and most importantly, their adoration for one another's work.
