Brian Chase is most recognizable as the drummer for NYC legends Yeah Yeah Yeahs — he's also an integral character in the city's underground avant-garde scene, where he's released solo material as Drums and Drones as well as collaborated with the likes of Zeena Parkins, Jessica Pavone, Yonatan Gat and many more. Influenced by his time working at the infamous Dream House, the sound environment conceived by sonic explorers La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela, Chase's solo work focuses on the overlap of rock, jazz, classical and sound art. Through his Chaikin Records, a label "dedicated to the intersection of musical language in its diversity," Chase provides a home for his experiments and those of others. Chase was recently chosen to perform at Brooklyn venue National Sawdust as part of John Zorn's the Stone Commissioning Series. T.
