Description
"I’m always trapped in between a binary dilemma, industrial/experimental versus housey techno," Selwa Abd recently told *Inverted Audio*. "I hate to choose because they reflect two ways of dealing with my reality." The Moroccan-born, NYC-based Abd makes music as Bergsonist — her sound, as heard on labels like DJ Sotofett's Borft Records, Styles Upon Styles and Always Human Tapes, veers between distorted techno, grainy electro and acid and untethered experiments in granular synthesis. She joins us in the second hour of Peak Time to talk about intuition, Deleuze and relating to machines. Also on today's show, Vivian sits down with Omar "Roxrite" Delgado Macias, a champion breakdancer who has embarked on a campaign to win an unprecedented 100 battles. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Roxrite moved to Windsor, California (in Sonoma wine country) at the age of six, and began breaking at 12, battling neighborhood kids at every birthday party and quinceañera.
