Genre-fluid composer Alexis Georgopolous - who began his musical career in pop-dance group Tussle - has never quite subscribed to any one singular sonic palette. Under his Arp moniker, his compositions have ranged from minimalist synthesizer explorations to abstract singer/songwriter pop, dancing between ambient, jazz and disco. Georgopolous finds his inspiration across continents, genres and cultural lines and culls together unlikely pieces to form a completely unified final product. His most recent release _Zebra_, his fifth studio album (out on Mexican Summer, is no exception. Drawing from Japanese ambient music, fourth world instrumentals, dub, spiritual jazz, and krautrock, _Zebra_ is the epitome of who Arp is. Vivian welcomes the forward-looking producer today to discuss diverse stylings, points of connectivity, the beauty of contrast and more.
