Today's Peak Time focuses on a recent compilation released by Optimo’s JD Twitch titled _Kreaturen Der Nacht_. Translated as Creatures of the Night, the comp brings together music from the hidden corners and darks shadows of Germany’s original post-punk and independent scene from 1979 to 1985. An era of artistic upheaval in Germany, musicians focused on expression over technical abilities, so the sounds were raw and ragged, bleeding with emotion and pride. The compilation features music from the leading voices of the time; Gudrun Gut, Malaria!, Mania D, Die Haut, and many more. While in Berlin, during RBMA, Vivian had the chance to speak with Pierangelo Maset and Michael Hirsch of punk band Exkurs (featured on the compilation) about this politically ignited time of creativity in Berlin and throughout German.
