This week on Frosty's border-free exploration of global sounds, we take a transportive journey through Oceania with a course charted by the enigmatic Tropical Hi-Fi. The producer, whose work has appeared on Emotional Response and Music for Dreams, star-guides us into Melanesia, Polynesia, Micronesia and Meganesia, unveiling the multiplicity of musical forms from this island-studded region. This sea-sprayed experience leads into further aquatic action as your host mixes up water-themed songs, director Vincent Moon of La Blogothèque fame beams in to share sacred Brazilian music from his recent Híbridos project and we hear a world premiere of Sudanese music from Ostinato Records.
