Description
Michael Rother is always aiming for the horizon line. He has devoted his creative energy to breaking out of structures musical, social and political. From Neu!, his influential duo with drummer Klaus Dinger, to his celestial venture with Cluster as Harmonia, not to mention his own solo albums, Rother has remained dedicated to expanding the freedom of sonic space. On the occasion of his new box set of solo productions on Grönland Records, Michael Rother joins Frosty to share an impactful mix of the music that buzzed his youthful ears. He opens up about his childhood in Pakistan, the chance encounter with Kraftwerk that changed his path and the power of silence, water and cats. Frosty launches the episode with a mini-set of music including tunes from Egypt, Spain, the Congo, Brazil and beyond, and closes the program with a world premiere of Afro-Cuban-Senegalese music from Ostinato Records.
