For his recent album, _Goatherder_, Capitol K returned to his native Malta to launch an excavation of the spaces and energies that shaped him. Roaming the scrubby earth, he recorded sonic and emotional snapshots of an island that has been a cultural crossroads of the greater Mediterranean. In crumbling limestone caves, ancient rock dwellings and secret valleys, Capitol K collected sounds to fuse into his personal, musical expression. Touching down in Malta across several seasons, he honed into the pacing and particular rhythms of the land to infuse _Goatherder_ with a sense of rejuvenation and rediscovery, reflecting a land where the present coexists with the ancient. Capitol K visits Open End with an exclusive mix of wider-world music that shares the same vibratory wavelength as his site-specific Maltese explorations. Frosty opens and closes the show with French psychedelia, Indian Ocean soul, Colombian cumbia echoes, Japanese jams, Mexican reggae, Andean dream states and more.
