The Modernist is the alias of Jörg Burger. In the early '90s, Burger, alongside Jürgen Paape and Wolfgang and Reinhard Voigt, became pioneers of the "Sound of Cologne" with their record shop Delirium, which morphed into the influential Kompakt label. His musical output as a producer spans almost three decades, with three albums and collaborations with artists such as Malaria!, Michael Mayer, Move D and of course, Wolfgang Voigt. In this session, he performs a live set at one of the premier nightlife joints of his hometown: Roxy.
