Description
The Men are an experimental rock band from Brooklyn who have released eight albums largely on the Sacred Bones label since forming in 2010, the most recent being 2016’s *Devil Music*, on their own We Are The Men Records. Their second album, *Leave Home*, saw the band give a jolt to the spine of the contemporary indie rock scene in New York – forging post-hardcore, noise, metal, shoegaze and psychedelic rock sounds together with caustic antagonism. Often considered an artful grouping, using analog recording techniques and giving a collective side-eye to rock & roll convention, The Men gained a cult following in the late ’00s, who have followed them through surprising stylistic turns – from the grit of their early releases to the more pop-leaning college-rock tropes of the late 2010s, and then to the psych-punk abandon of *Devil’s Music*.
