Having been a student and employee of one of Germany’s greatest techno success stories, Kompakt, Cologne producer and DJ Aksel Schauffler aka Superpitcher found that with tracks like "Heroin" and "Mushroom" his horizons did not become minimal but instead became claustrophobically panoramic. Then he teamed up with another of Cologne’s favorite sons (Michael Mayer) to form Supermayer: like a pair of Siamese Dr. Frankensteins, injecting your brain with cryogenically preserved techno-minimal-house-pop and more than a few smile genomes. Known for his unfeasibly long sets as part of the Pachanga Boys duo alongside Rebolledo, this is reflected in his serialised longplayer *The Golden Ravedays*, which clock in at 24 tracks and about six hours. It's a journey through tripped-out slow house grooves and ambient stretches that are enough to warp not just the dancefloor, but your whole notion of time and space.
