On the Floor – Rosa Pistola at Red Bull Music Festival New York

Repping the newer generation of reggaeton pioneers is Mexico City-based Rosa Pistola. Originally from Colombia, she champions her adopted home and its relatively unknown scene: "Just like there is Puerto Rican, Colombian and Panamanian reggaeton, I want people to realize that in Mexico they also have their own style. And this style has been there for a long time, it's just not recognized as it deserves." A member of DJ Krizis and DJ Sueño's Perreo Pesado, a label dedicated to expanding the style and pushing collective members to the forefront of the DJ circuit, Rosa Pistola is a prominent player in the expansion of the reggaeton sound.
