On the Floor – Odile Myrtil at RBMA Weekender Montréal

Montréal-based Odile Myrtil is a vocalist, lyricist, DJ and multimedia artist whose work encompasses experimental club music, hip-hop and R&B. As a vocalist, she’s written lyrics and sang on songs with fellow Montréal artist CRi, most notably their sensual, upbeat pop jam “Why I Love You” on TOKiMONSTA’s Young Art Records. In a live capacity, she collaborates with CRi and bandmate Ouri, and in the club world, she’s the languid vocalist featured on “Iron Cages,” the 2015 single from the LA-based Fade To Mind member Rizzla. Odile releases work sporadically, but with great care — taking influence from experimental R&B artists like FKA Twigs to shape a sound that is emotive but malleable, she plays with the traditional singer-songwriter narrative to fold experimental electronics, visual arts and performative techniques into her recordings and live shows.
