Monty Luke's production career began in the early 2000s. Influenced by Detroit artists such as Theo Parrish and Kenny Dixon Jr, Luke moved from San Francisco to the Motor City in 2008 to work with none other than Carl Craig at Planet E, before forming his own Detroit-based label, Black Catalogue, in 2011. The mission of Black Catalogue is to present records with a future slant, something a little different than the standard Detroit fare. In this session, Monty Luke spins his spaced-out house at the Orange Room.
